Abstract:

In the study, whose main purpose is to examine the relationship between individuals' awareness of recreational benefit and their level of life satisfaction, the comparison of recreational benefit awareness, life satisfaction level and demographic characteristics are determined as sub-objectives. Questionnaire, one of the quantitative data collection methods, is used to collect primary data in the study. Recreation Benefit Scale and Life Satisfaction Scale are used to obtain the data. In the study, in which individuals between the ages of 18-61 living in Çankırı formed the population of the research, the sample number is determined as 384. Within the scope of the research, a questionnaire is applied to 420 participants, and 395 usable ones are evaluated. One-Way Anova Analysis is used to determine the relationship between the time spent by the participants for leisure time activities and the awareness of recreation benefits and life satisfaction, and correlation analysis is used to determine the effect of awareness of recreational benefits on life satisfaction. As a result of the analysis, no significant difference is found between the groups in terms of recreational benefit awareness and gender and marital status variables, but it is determined that there is a significant difference between the groups in terms of life satisfaction and gender and marital status. In addition, it is determined that there is a positive and significant relationship between recreational benefit awareness and life satisfaction.
