Bucak, Akdeniz Bölgesi sınırları içinde yer alan Burdur iline bağlı bir ilçedir. Batı grubu ağız bölgesinde yer alan yöre, zengin söz varlığına sahiptir. Anadolu ağızlarındaki söz varlığının tespiti ile ilgili çalışmalar Cumhuriyet'in ilk yıllarında başlamış, 1963 yılından itibaren Derleme Sözlüğü’nün yayımlanmasıyla büyük bir aşama kaydetmiştir. Bunun yanında yeni araştırmalarla birçok yöreden söz varlığı ile ilgili çalışmalar yapılmış ve yapılmaya devam edilmektedir. Eskicil/arkaik ifadesi farklı kaynakların yaptığı tanımlamalara göre artık standart dilde kullanımdan düşmüş unsurlar şeklinde tarif edilmektedir. Bu ögeler gerek ses gerek yapı gerekse söz varlığı bakımından oldukça zengin özellikler sergilemekte ve Türkçenin geçmişten günümüze sahip olduğu gelişim ve değişimi gözler önüne sermektedir. Standart dilde kullanımdan düşmüş bu eskicil kelimeler ağızlarda ise yaşamaya devam etmektedir. Bu kelimelerin ağızlarda yaşaması dil çalışmalarında ağızların kaynak olma özelliğini sağlamlaştırmaktadır. Çalışmada Türkiye Türkçesi ağızlarının Batı grubunda yer alan Bucak ağzındaki eskicil kelimeler incelenmiştir. Özellikle yazı dilinde bulunmayıp Bucak ağzında yaşayan kelimelerin gelişimi ele alınmıştır. Yörede derlemeler neticesinde belirlenen kelimeler, Türk dilinin eski kaynaklarıyla karşılaştırılmış ve bu karşılaştırma neticesinde yörede 239 eskicil kelime tespit edilmiştir. Kaynaklarda bulunan kelimeler ses, şekil ve anlamlarıyla birlikte verilmiştir. Bu kelimelerin 48’i Eski Türkçenin Grameri 65’i Eski Uygur Türkçesi Sözlüğü 155’i Divanü Lügati’t-Türk ve 193’ü Yeni Tarama Sözlüğü kaynaklarında yer almaktadır.
Bucak is a district linked to Burdur which is located within the borders of the Mediterranean Region. The place located in the western group's mouth area has a rich word presence. Studies on the detection of the word existence in the Anadolu mouths began in the early years of the Republic, and since 1963 it has recorded a big stage with the publication of the Assembly Dictionary. In addition, new research has been carried out and continued to be carried out in many places. The ancient/archaic expression, according to the definitions made by different sources, is now described as elements that have fallen from use in the standard language. These objects show quite rich characteristics in terms of the existence of the word and show the development and change that the Turkish has from the past to the present. These ancient words that have fallen from the use in the standard language are still living in the mouth. The existence of these words in the mouth strengthens the ability of the mouth to be a source in language studies. The study examined the ancient words in the Bucak mouth in the western group of Turkish mouths. Especially not in the written language and the development of words in the Bucak mouth was discussed. The words identified as a result of the localizations were compared with the ancient sources of the Turkish language, and as a result of this comparison, 239 ancient words were identified in the site. The words in the sources are given with their sound, shape and meaning. 48 of these words are listed in the Old Turkish Grammar, 65 in the Old Uyghur Turkish Dictionary, 155 in the Divanü Lügati't-Türk and 193 in the New Scan Dictionary.
