Abstract:

This study was aimed at studying the attitudes of pre-school teacher candidates towards the teaching profession in terms of child-loving situations. The research study group included 395 teachers candidates who studied in Pre-School Teaching at Konya Necmettin Erbakan University and Mevlana University School of Education. The study used the "Barnett Child Love Scale" and the "Barnett Child Love Scale" developed by Üstüner (2006) for the purpose of measuring the attitudes of individuals towards children by Duyan and Gelbal as a data collection tool. For the assessment of the data obtained from the study, pearson moments have been applied to the correlation and simple linear regression. The research results have shown that there is a meaningful, middle-level and positive relationship between the teaching profession attitudes of teachers candidates and the child-loving situations. He also showed that 14% of teachers’ attitudes towards the teaching profession are explained by child-loving situations.
