nsanlar çocukluğundan yaşlılığına kadar farklı gelişim evrelerinden geçer. Bu evreler içerisinde bazı fizyolojik değişimler görülür. Bu değişimler bireyden bireye farklılıklar göstermektedir. Özellikle ilerleyen yaşlarda beslenme düzeninin bozulması ve hareketsizlik sonucu şişmanlık ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra menopoz dönemi de kadınların vücut ölçü oranlarında değişiklik meydana getirmektedir. Giysi tercihlerinde ise giysinin fonksiyonelliği, vücuda uyumu, estetik görünümü ve kişiye rahat hareket olanağı sağlaması konuları gündeme gelmektedir. Bu nedenle bireylerin değişen antropometrik özelliklerinin ortaya konarak giysi tasarımcıları ve üreticileri için doğru verilerin sağlanması önemlidir. Alt beden giysileri için beden numaralarının belirlenmesinde kalça çevresi ölçüsü kullanılmaktadır. Araştırmadaki amaç, kalça ölçüsüne göre diğer alt beden antropometrik ölçülerin dağılımlarını pilot bir çalışma ile ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın örneklemi, 160- 170 cm arasındaki boyda, 65-85 arasındaki kiloda, 50 yaş ve üzerindeki 30 kadından oluşmaktadır. Araştırma verilerini, özellikle alt beden grubu giysilerin hazırlanması için kullanılan genişlik ve uzunluk ölçülerinden oluşan 13 vücut ölçüsü oluşturmuştur. Kadınlar üzerinden alınan ölçüler mezura kullanılarak elde edilmiştir. Ölçülerin analizinde SPSS 23.00 paket programı kullanılmıştır. Kalça çevresi ölçüsü esas alınarak, aynı beden grubunda diğer ölçülerin dağılımları grafikler ile ortaya konulmuştur. Araştırma, gelecekte oluşturulacak 50 yaş ve üzeri kadın beden ölçü standardizasyonu çalışmalarında faydalanılabilecek bir ön çalışma niteliği taşımaktadır.
