Abstract:

The aim of this research is to investigate the emotional features of prospective primary school teachers who participated in the authentic assessment process in the course of scientific research methods. One of the qualitative research methods, document review was used in this research. As documents, the diaries were used which were written by students in the scientific research methods course. In the analysis of data obtained from the documents, content analysis technique was used. In order to ensure the reliability of the research, the diaries were encoded by another researcher too. Then, reliability between coders was calculated. Reliability coefficients calculated for all weeks ranged from .71 to .80. When examining the findings of the research in the first weeks the teachers felt mostly negative emotions and towards last weeks negative feelings decreased and instead of them positive emotions replaced. Also when the frequency determined during the 11-week investigation related to feelings was analyzed it was found that the negative emotions that teachers felt most were anxiety and compulsion positive emotions were the satisfaction of the process and positive feelings towards instructor
