So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

Developing the awareness of Service Learning is an important dimension of educational process. The applications of service learning (SL) has been integrated in Turkish educational system in the decay. The majority of the universities in Turkey have recognized their role to provide service in the society and to improve their welfare. Therefore, Service Learning has taken its place as a course in the universities programs. At educational faculties, SL course has given in the programs for six years and aims to provide an understanding to the prospective teachers towards the problems of society, and courage them to define and produce projects in order to solve problems in the area. In this study, Music and Art students' awareness were evaluated at the Fine Arts Education Department towards the course SL. The population of the study represents the Departments of Fine Arts. The sample was chosen from Necmettin Erbakan University (NEU), Ahmet Keleşoğlu (AK) Educational Faculty. The total of 67 students took part in the survey from Music Education and Art Education departments. The study is based on quantitative research method and questionnaire was used as a data collecting instrument, which was developed by researchers. The significant differences were found in Music and Art students' awareness level towards course SL.
