Abstract:

Fast changes in today's societies, economic, technological, scientific, socio-cultural, etc. It has an impact in many areas. All these changes, including technological and scientific developments, industrialization, modernization, urbanization, the transformation of traditional roles, have a profound impact on the family and the members of the family, the most fundamental institution of society. In other words, in today’s rapidly changing and transforming societies, the family is in the center of society. The rapid social changes that are undergoing keep discussions on the definition, structure, species, functions and the future of the family on the agenda. Changes in the structure, size and function of the family; the emergence of new ways of living and new kinds of family, alternatives to the family and marriage; the increase in divorces, single-parent families, non-marriage associations and births; the decrease in fertility are the headquarters of family-related changes. All of these changes, issues that enter the area of interest of family sociology, the need to re-eliminate concepts in different contexts. Technology is one of the most fundamental factors that trigger social changes, and the place, importance, and use of technology in the family is much higher than in the past. In this context, the study, especially today’s rapidly developing technology leads to radical changes in the family, is attempted to be addressed by the visual analysis method related to the scan of literature in the context of parents, children and childhood concepts. The digitalized world is changing rapidly in a new direction, and it is observed that it has changed from the traditional family structure to the child-centered core family structure of today. In comparison with the past, given the increased significance, importance and value of the child within the family, the changes in the relationship between parents and children lead to the re-definition of the concepts of parentality and childhood in the digitalized world, and the concepts of digital parent(s) and digital child(s) are presented to us. From here the purpose of working with the movement is to identify the concepts of digital parents and digital children, with the influence of social change and digitalization in the family context on the change in the family structure.
