Abstract:

The 2008 global financial crisis appeared on the mortgage markets in the United States. With time, the real sector and the financial sector have become a global crisis. The effects of the crisis have profoundly affected the banking sector, which has been the role of mediation between the real sector and the financial sector, and the mortgage crisis has become the banking crisis. The 2008 global financial crisis has worsened the macroeconomic indicators in Turkey as in other countries. In 2001, Turkey experienced the biggest crisis in its history, with a variety of re-forms and programs, the banking sector was restructed, strengthening its capital structures, making it easier for banks to cope with increasing competition and crises with globalization. The Turkish banking sector, which is trying to cover the wounds of the 2001 economic crisis, has passed a challenging test with the 2008 financial crisis and the importance of the banking sector has once again emerged when it takes into account the size of its share in the financial system. In this study, the activities of private and public-capital deposit banks that have been continuously operating in the years 2008-2018 have been studied through the data coverage method. The GAMs program was used in the analysis. In the study, the input-oriented CCR model was used and the total meat-power values were calculated under the fixed return assumption according to the scale.
