Abstract:

The aim of the research is to examine the effect of the academic learning climate at the Faculty of Sports Sciences on students' critical thinking motivation. The relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The survey form used in the research consists of 3 parts. In the first part, the personal information form in which the demographic information of the students participating in the research is collected, in the second part, "Critical Thinking Motivation Scale", and in the third part; “School Climate Scale” was used. “301” students studying at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University Faculty of Sports Sciences (2nd-4th grade) participated in the research. "IBM SPSS 26" statistical analysis program was used to analyze the research data. Since the data showed a normal distribution between +1.5 and -1.5, parametric tests were applied. According to the findings of the research data, a positive and significant relationship was determined between school climate and critical thinking motivation. On the other hand, it was determined that the school climate and learning environment scale had a positive impact on students' critical thinking motivation. As a result, there is a positive relationship between students' school climate perceptions and their critical thinking motivation and the academic learning climate positively affects students' critical thinking motivation.
