Abstract:

The main purpose of the research is to examine the general view of the classroom working in primary schools in Çanakkale on classroom design. One of the qualitative research methods, phenomenology execution and execution center consists of 41 classroom teachers working in primary schools in Çanakkale city center in the 2020-2021 academic year. Online and face-to-face interviews were conducted with the classroom teachers participating in the research, in line with the permissions obtained and on a voluntary basis. For the purpose of collecting the clusters of the research, the semi-obtained interview formula produced by the expert opinion and realizing the relevant literature was used. It was informed that the data obtained during the interviews will be kept confidential and recorded. After the interviews, the audio recordings were transferred to the computer environment. Content analysis technique was used to analyze the research data. The findings were modeled with the NVivo package program. According to the research group, in the classroom design, the owner of the classroom; It has been reached to people who give importance to physical elements and among these elements, the spread of the layout in the classroom, the readiness of the students should be taken into account at the beginning of the educational elements that can be described as another element of the classroom, and they especially draw attention to the dimensional environment elements and layout in the ideal classroom design. Existing classroom environments; the opinions of the classroom teachers were mostly not taken in its creation, does not support its own educational philosophy and goals, has a positive effect on teacher-student communication, allowing flexible physical arrangement, that they find appropriate for the course contents specified in the curriculum and the activities envisaged to be carried out, It has been reached that they need to be enriched with learning areas (interest corners).
