Abstract:

People’s beliefs, sects, races, identities, worldviews, mentalities, knowledge, experiences, etc. it is effective in evaluating facts and events. Some of the people, under the influence of these belongings, may not see the truth, can approach issues ideologically, cover up the facts, act with prejudices by losing their impartiality, or make purposeful evaluations by appearing impartial. However, very few people manage to remain neutral in their assessments. The reason for writing this article is to examine whether Goldziher remained neutral in his research on Islam. As far as we can determine, there is no other study that addresses the issue of Goldziher's impartiality in his approach to Islam, Quran, Muhammad and hadiths. This study was carried out in order to fill this gap and to introduce him correctly. While investigating Goldziher's impartiality in the article, one of his most important works, Muhammedanische Studien (Islamic Cultural Studies 1-2), was taken as a basis, and other scientific studies examining his various aspects were also used. The article was limited to Goldziher's approach to Islam, Quran, Muhammad and hadiths. At the end of the article, it was concluded that Goldziher ignored the truths in order to reach the conclusions he had constructed in his mind, made arbitrary and forced interpretations, distorted the facts and lost his impartiality.
