Abstract:

Training teachers candidates for scientific research is one of the tasks of the universities. Therefore, this research was done with the aim of examining the attitudes of teachers candidates towards scientific research in terms of various variables. In this study, the screening method has been used. The universe of research consists of teachers candidates who continue their education in the various fields of maternity at the Atatürk University Kazim Karabekir Education Faculty in the 2016-2017 academic year. The sample of the study consists of 381 students who continue their education in 4 selected fields of anatomy from the universe. To obtain the data, it has been used the "Scientific Research Attitude Scale" developed by Korkmaz, Shahin and Green (2011). When the findings of the study are examined, the arithmetic average of each subdimensional is 2.69 for "Unwanted to Help Researchers", 2.28, 4.08 for "Positive Attitude to Research" and 3.98 for "Positive Attitude to Researchers". There was no statistically significant difference between the attitudes of teachers candidates towards scientific research in terms of gender, class level and settlement variables. In terms of graduated high school variation, there was a significant difference between the attitudes of teachers candidates towards scientific research in general in favor of general high school graduates. There was no statistically meaningful relationship between income and bachelor’s average success and the attitudes of teaching candidates towards scientific research.
