Abstract:

Abdominal cough syndrome after costic intake: rare occurrence presentation
2023
Author:
Abstract:

Abdominal cough syndrome is a rare condition that causes intestinal bark obstruction. It is a benign cause of thin abdominal obstruction and is also called encapular peritoneal sclerosis (EPS). Many secondary factors, such as tuberculosis, sarcoidosis, malignity, medications, peritonal dialysis, as may be related to idyopathic causes, are also found in the ethology. A 22-year-old man with no illness has been asked for emergency after a costic treatment. The patient was directly examined by the stomach graphics, Western Ultrasound (US) and contrasted stomach computer tomography (BT). Radiography and the US result were assessed as compatible with ileus. In the abdominal BT, thin abdominal dilatation, which indicates air-fluid levels, accumulation in the dilate abdominal edges and environmental peritoneal thickness were observed. With these radiological findings, abdominal cough syndrome was considered. The diagnosis was confirmed by surgery and histopathological examinations. In this article we shared the abdominal cough phenomenon, a rare complication that develops after the use of costic drugs, along with radiological findings.
