Abstract:

Personality can be treated as the whole of the characteristics that make the individual special. People can be gathered in different groups according to their personality. Life satisfaction is the degree of positive evaluation of the individual’s life. We can say that the individual with certain expectations from life is satisfied to the extent that he can these expectations. The purpose of this study is to study in the framework of a model of whether there are meaningful relationships between the individual’s personality characteristics and life satisfaction. The gender variable has also been discussed whether personality and life satisfaction variables are different or not. 602 students participated voluntarily in the study. The data is collected by a dimensional five-factor personality inventory, lifetime scale and personal information form. The negative relationship between life satisfaction and emotional imbalance; the positive relationship between externality, conformity and responsibility; the meaningful relationship between experience and discernment has not been established. There has been a significant difference between men and women in the variables of life satisfaction, conformity, responsibility and experience. The model of the research was largely supported. The findings were discussed on the basis of the field of personality psychology and some recommendations were made for researchers to study in this field.
