Bu çalışmada geçici barınma merkezleri dışında yaşayan Suriyeli öğrencilerin bulunduğu sınıflarda görev yapan Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin yaşadıkları sorunlar ve bu sorunlara ilişkin çözüm önerilerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması temel alınmıştır. Toplamda 26 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni ile yüz yüze görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Veriler içerik analizi yöntemi ile çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda sorunlara yönelik beş tema ve bu sorunların çözümlerine yönelik ise yine beş tema oluşmuştur. Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin yaşadıkları sorunlara yönelik temalarda en fazla vurgulanan bulgular; Türkçe bilmemek, derse ilgisizlik ve başarısızlık, dersin içeriğinde yer alan milli konuları kendine uzak bulma, Arap kültürü ile Türk kültürü arasında bocalama, kendini yaşadığı çevreye ait hissetmeme/adapte olamama şeklindeki sorunlar olmuştur. Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin yaşadıkları sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerilerinde ise; uyum eğitiminin verilmesi, yaşadığı yeri sahiplenme duygusunun kazandırılması, yurttaşlık eğitimi, akran desteği, eğitim-öğretim sürecinin zenginleştirilmesi, ailelere sosyal destek verilmesi, öğrencilerle empati kurulması ve herkesin bu süreçte sabırlı olması gerektiğine yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur. Ayrıca bu araştırma sonuçlarından hareketle yeni araştırmalar için öneriler sunulmuştur.
This study aims to identify the problems with which social information teachers working in the classes where Syrian students live outside of temporary accommodation centers and to identify the solutions for these problems. The study is based on the quality research patterns. In total, 26 social information teachers have been interviewed face-to-face. The data is analyzed by the method of content analysis. The research resulted in five topics on the problems and the solutions to these problems, and again five topics were formed. Social information is the most emphasized findings in the topics of the problems that teachers are experiencing; not knowing Turkish, lack of interest and failure in the lesson, finding the national subjects contained in the lesson away from themselves, discontinuing between Arab culture and Turkish culture, feeling / not able to adapt to the environment in which they live. Social information teachers have proposed solutions to the problems they experience; the provision of adaptation education, the provision of the sense of possession of the place where they live, the education of citizenship, the support of fellow people, the enrichment of the educational-learning process, the provision of social support to families, the establishment of empathy with students, and the provision that everyone should be patient in this process. In addition, recommendations for new research have been submitted from the results of this research.
The aim of the study is to determine the problems experienced by the Social Studies teachers teaching in classes with Syrian students not living in the temporary refuge centre and the solution recommendations to these problems. The research is based on case study being one of the qualitative patterns. 26 Social Studies teachers in total were interviewed face to face. The data were analysed with the content analysis method. Five themes regarding the problems and five themes regarding the solutions of these problems were developed at the end of the study. The mostly emphasized findings in the themes concerning the problems that the Social Studies teachers experienced were problems such as not knowing Turkish, indifference to the class and failure, not being able to familiarize with the topics of the course, wavering between Arabic culture and Turkish culture and not being able to feel that they belong in the place they live/ non-assimilation. As for the problems that the Social Studies teachers experience, the solution recommendations were; providing adaptation training, bringing in the feeling of embracing where one lives, civic education, peer support, enriching the educational process, giving social support to families, showing empathy towards students and everyone to be patient within this process. There were also suggestions for new researches based on the results of this study.
