Abstract:

The objective of the current research is to study the dimensions of perfectionism (self-oriented, towards others and socially imposed perfectionism) and the relationship between depression, anxiety and stress, and then determine the role of the means of difficulty regulating emotions and uncertainty in a possible relationship. For this purpose, the research was carried out with 252 participants aged 18-66. Participants have been applied Personal Information Form, Multi-Dimensional Excellence Scale, Uncertainty Intolerance Scale-Short Form, Emotional Regulation Difficulty Scale-Short Form and Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-Short Form. According to the results of the analysis, a positive correlation has been found between socially imposed perfectionism and depression, anxiety and stress. In the relationship of perfectionism towards others with depression, anxiety and stress, a meaningful relationship with depression has only been established. In the model analysis of the instrument made, only significant results were obtained in the socially imposed dimension of perfectionism. The relationship between socially imposed perfectionism and depression-anxiety-stress has been determined to be mediated by all the subdimensions of the difficulty of emotional regulation. In the relationship of socially imposed perfectionism and stress, it has been found that uncertainty has an instrumental role with the dimensions of anxiety and anxiety towards the future; in the relationship of socially imposed perfectionism, depression and anxiety, the uncertainty is only mediated by the dimensions of anxiety.
