Anti-teodiseler teizm açısından çözülmesi gereken bir kötülük problemi olmadığını farklı şekillerde savunur. Çağdaş teist filozof Brian Davies bir anti-teodise taraftarıdır ve özellikle J. Mackie’nin mantıksal kötülük problemi argümanını hedef alarak teistlerin Mackie’ye verecekleri bir cevabın olmadığını çünkü Mackie’nin ortaya koyduğu şekilde bir kötülük probleminin var olmadığını savunur. Kötülük problemini oluşturan temel yanılgı Davies’e göre Tanrı’nın iyiliğinin ahlaki bir failin iyiliği gibi düşünülmesidir. Halbuki Tanrı bir fail olamaz, çünkü herhangi bir türe ait değildir. Bu nedenle Tanrı’nın iyiliğinin nasıl bir iyilik olduğu insan tarafından tam olarak bilinemez. İbn Arabi vahdeti vücûd teorisi içinde Tanrı’nın Zat’ını ve sıfatlarını ayırarak Tanrı’nın hem bilinemezliğini ortaya koyar hem de Tanrı’nın ahlaki failliğini insanın ahlaki failliğinden ayırmaz. Bu çalışma Davies’in ahlaki iyilikle Tanrısal iyilik arasında yaptığı söz konusu ayrımın İbn Arabi üzerinden tekrar nasıl bir araya getirilebileceğini tartışır.
Anti-theodicies holds that there is no need to solve the problem of evil in terms of theism, and it can be defended in various ways. Philosopher Brian Davies, a contemporary theist, supports an anti-theodicy approach and mainly challenges J. Mackie's argument for the logical problem of evil. He argues that theists cannot provide a solution to Mackie's argument because there is no actual problem of evil, as Mackie claims. According to Davies, the root of the problem of evil lies in treating God's goodness as a moral agent. However, God cannot be an agent because he does not belong to any species, thus making it impossible to know the exact nature of God's goodness. Meanwhile, Ibn Arabi highlights the unknowability of God by separating God's essence and attributes in his theory of vahdet-i vücud, and does not separate God's moral agency from the human moral agency. This study discusses how Davies' distinction between moral and divine goodness can be reconciled through Ibn Arabi's theory.
