Abstract:

The objective of this study is to reveal the results of the validity and reliability study of the "School's Character Education Competence Scale", which is prepared for the purpose of evaluating the studies carried out in schools according to the character education philosophy. The scale was prepared by the "Caracter Education Process" developed by taking advantage of the principles of character education developed by the Character Education Partnership (CEP). At the beginning of the preparation stage of the measurement, the opinions of different experts were taken and those not understood in 60 items were corrected and the number of substances was reduced to 52. The validity and reliability study of the scale was carried out on 168 teachers randomly selected from 5 different primary schools. The factor analysis resulted in the observation that the scale, which has a high reliability ratio along with the elimination of some substances, was aggregated in 33 substances and five factors. These factors are named on the basis of the field text. According to this, it can be said that a scale of 33 matters and five factors is achieved to help researchers and educators aimed at measuring the capacity of the structural validity of the schools.
