Dönemin Türk basınına ve ikinci el kaynaklara dayanarak hazırlanan bu makale Almanya'da Nasyonel Sosyalistlerin iktidarı döneminde düzenlenen 1936 Berlin Olimpiyatlarını ve bu olimpiyatlarda mücadele eden Türk sporcuların müsabakalarını incelemektedir. Bu olimpiyatlarda güreş branşında bir birincilik ile bir üçüncülük elde eden Türk sporcular, ilk kez Türkiyeye madalya kazandırmışlardı. Ulus devlet kurma aşamasındaki Türkiyede dönemin Türk basını bu spor başarılarına geniş yer vererek bu başarıyı Türklüğün gücü olarak göstermiştir. Bunun yanında Nazilerin, olimpiyat sürecinde Türk sporcu ve misafirlerine gösterdiği sıcak ilgi ve sunduğu ayrıcalıklar, Türk basınında Türk-Alman dostluğunun bir göstergesi olarak yorumlanmıştır.
Based on the Turkish press and second-hand sources of the period, this article examines the 1936 Berlin Olympics held in Germany during the National Socialists' rule and the competitions of the Turkish athletes fighting in these Olympics. In these Olympics, the Turkish athletes who won a third place in the competition branche, for the first time won the medal to Turkey. In the stage of the establishment of the national state in Turkey, the Turkish press of the period has shown this success as the power of Turkey, giving a wide place to these sports successes. In addition, the warm interest and privileges that the Nazis showed to the Turkish athletes and guests during the Olympics were interpreted in the Turkish press as an indicator of Turkish-German friendship.
