Bu araştırmada, 2008-2020 yılları arasında Türkiye'de medikal turizm üzerine yapılan 53 yüksek lisans ve 11 doktora tezi incelenmiş ve medikal turizme yönelik akademik yaklaşımlar değerlendirilmiştir. Bu bağlamda, daha yoğun çalışılan 2018-2020 yılları dahil edilerek lisansüstü çalışmaların sınırlı olduğu noktalar ve nedenleri hakkında ipuçları elde edileceği öngörülmektedir. Bu amaçla "doküman analizi" yöntemi kullanılarak Yükseköğretim Kurulu Tez Merkezi veri tabanı "medikal turizm" anahtar kelimeleri ile taranmış ve tüm tezlerin içerikleri bibliyometrik olarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda; 2018-2020 yılları arasında hazırlanan tez sayısının diğer yıllarda yapılan tezlere göre daha fazla olduğu ve bu yıllar arasında nitel ve nicel çalışmalar kadar karma çalışmalara da ağırlık verildiği görülmüştür. Ayrıca 2018- 2020 yılları arasındaki çalışmaların gelecekte medikal turizm ile ilgili yeni çalışmalara rehberlik edebilecek modeller ve yeni yöntemler açısından daha zengin içeriğe sahip olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu makale bir yüksek lisans tezinden türetilmiştir.
In this study, 53 master's and 11 doctoral theses on medical tourism in Turkey between 2008 and 2020 were studied and academic approaches to medical tourism were evaluated. In this context, it is expected to include the more intensely studied 2018-2020 years and get clues about the points and reasons for which graduate studies are limited. For this purpose, using the "document analysis" method, the Higher Education Council Thesis Center database was scaned with the keywords "medical tourism" and the contents of all the theses were bibliometrically analyzed. The study found that the number of the theses prepared between 2018 and 2020 was greater than the theses prepared in other years, and that between these years the weight was given to the mixed studies as well as the qualitative and quantitative studies. The study between 2018 and 2020 has also concluded that it has a richer content in terms of models and new methods that can lead to new studies related to medical tourism in the future.
