Özet:

The aim of this study is to determine the problems, needs and expectations of adult individuals with substance-use disorders and to examine the relationship between general family function levels and various demographic variables. The study was conducted by using quantitative research method and within the framework of the relative screening model. The sample of the study consists of 327 adult participants randomly selected among the individuals who had received service from the department of probation. In the research, the Short Form of Family Assessment Device and Risk Assessment Questionnaire were used as data collection tools. T-test and ANOVA among parametric tests were used in the analysis of the obtained data. The relationship between categorical variables was analyzed by Chi-square test. As a result of the study, it was found that there were no problems in the general family functions of the participants, but there was a significant relationship between the general family functions and marital status, family structure, monthly income, mental health, age of first substance use, criminal history, and suicide attempt. The findings of this research are expected to contribute to the improvement of the quality of rehabilitation services provided to individuals with substance-use disorder in the department of probation.
