Abstract:

Stress is known as a disease today. Stress, known as mental stress, is also associated with many psychological problems. A certain level of stress known as more negative is also seen as positive. A new scale that we can say measures both the positive and the negative aspects of stress was developed by Branson and his friends (2019). The scale given to literature by the positive and negative stress scale in young people is also the subject of this adaptation work. For the study, the ethical board has been approved by Decision No. 8 adopted at the meeting No. 21 on 09.10.2020 of the Social and Human Sciences Research Ethics Council of the University of Fırat. In the adaptation, language equality is first provided by following the stages in literature. The data collected from 490 university students for the validity of the building was also conducted with the data collected from the opening factor analysis (AFA) and the data collected from 309 students with the verifying factor analysis (DFA). Both analyses have achieved meaningful and sufficient results. For the validity of the measurement, the stress low dimension of the DASS-21 scale was also used. The data collected from six docents and the relationship between the negative and positive stress scale and stress and the correlation values were found in positive stress r=-,402 (p<,001), negative stress r=,721 (p<,001). For the reliability of the adjusted scale, the Cronbach alpha value and the differentiation of the 27% lower and upper layers were considered. The results of the analysis found the positive stress alpha value α=,825 and the negative stress alpha value α=,827 . The top t-test values are t _{The negative stress} = 33.038 (p<,001) and t _{The positive stress} It is achieved as 11,581 (p<,001). As a result, appropriate analysis results were obtained in the adaptation stages and the Young Negative and Positive Stress Scale was awarded to the scientific literature.
