Literature refers to creative writings measured to be an art for the sake of pleasure along with information and believed to have artistic or intellectual value not for a single society but for all societies, often due to organizing language with specific words in ways that differ from ordinary usage. Literature is the reflection of life more or less true, not for a single age but for all ages. There are certain elements of one culture which can be found in the literary piece of another country. The present study analyses the elements of Asian culture in Edward Morgan Forster’s A Passage to India, a British novel by a British novelist. In this novel Forster highlights the effects of oppressors and oppressed through two main characters, Dr. Aziz and Miss Quested. The three different sections of the novel, shows the various attitudes of British hold for the Asians. It also treats to connect the two through certain common elements such as culture, religion and humanity. Various cultural points and expectations regarding hospitality, social behavior, and the role of religion in daily life are the key issues highlighted in this novel. Asian cultures are opposed to the Western cultures which emphasis on unfetter values and liberal democracy as criticized by the Asian representatives. Identifying these elements is the core issue of this research article.
