Özet:

In this work, suicide attacks are examined in the context of terror and freedom. Suicide attacks, which are seen as one of the most important political events in these days, are considered to be terror attacks for some or a search to be more free the others. Since there are various evaluations on this. The dominant understandings, especially governments who fight against terror organizations and groups representing established order, consider suicide attacks as terror attacks. On the other hand, the organizations, who apply suicide attacks as a tactic for fighting, and individuals who perform these attacks have evaluated their suicide attacks in the context of freedom/independence seeking. In this work the arguments of these two different views are comparatively examined. Furthermore, suicide attacks have been intensified certain geographical region for the purpose of mass killing and revenge where intense conflict and invasion has been experienced. In order to understand the motives of these actions, executioners of these murders, responsible individuals and organizations’ their explanatory statements are investigated. In their statements they said they have done this action for the sake of freedom. The reasons of their assault stand for alien invasions, conflict environment, and political objective of organizations and socio-psychological attitudes of individuals. In the article, findings of investigations of the other researchers on suicide attacks and attackers are summarized briefly. In conclusions, in order to have a healthy view on these matters, objectives and attitudes of these organizations and individuals should be thoroughly examined. Furthermore, in the article mentioned that suicide attacks simply cannot be seen as only act of terror, in the opposite exhibit complex features. They need to be investigated with the concept of freedom and dignity.
