Abstract:

The items that include non-subjective cultural heritage are increasing recently. In this regard, UNESCO offers significant support to its member countries in the protection of human values. The aim of this study is to reveal the contribution to sustainable gastronomic tourism and the prescription of what villages are connected to the Ayvacık district in which Hıdırellez celebrations are continued, the production of "Hıdırelez rice" is continued. For this purpose, research has been carried out in the associated villages of Ayvacık. According to the field research, the Hıdırellez rice made during the Hıdırellez celebrations was found that it was still made in 34 villages related to Ayvacık, and in 29 villages it was made in the past but is now abandoned. The major factor in the lack of celebrations is the decrease in the population in the villages and especially the young population. It can be said that young people have an important place in transmitting traditions to future generations. In the Hıdırellez celebrations held in 34 villages connected to Ayvacık, the result was that the boyfriend was taken with a sheep or a son and the Hıdırellez rice was made. The celebrations of Hıdırellez are more important in the Turkmen villages associated with Ayvacık, the presentation and production of local meals can be expressed by the movement of all the village people together. They expressed their celebrations that the villages around, the people who live in the district center and the peasants who live outside participate, the days or days when they celebrate, their villages became crowded. However, foreign tourists don’t show much interest in the celebrations because of the lack of advertising.
