Geçmiş yıllarda hastalıkların tedavisinde sadece yüz yüze yapılan yöntemler kullanılırken, özellikle sağlıkta teknoloji kullanımı ile bu durum çevrim içi ortama kaymaya başlamıştır. Hastaların elektronik ortama kaymasının bir sonucu olarak elektronik hastalar (e-hastalar) ortaya çıkmıştır. Özellikle 2000’li yıllardan itibaren yaygın olarak kullanılmaya başlanan tele-tıp ve mobil uygulamalar ile e-hastalar çoğalmaya başlamıştır. Bu doğrultuda, bu hasta tipinin zaman içinde ortaya çıktığı, bu nedenle de bir dönüşümün olduğu ifade edilebilir. Fiziki hastadan e-hastaya doğru bir geçiş olarak ifade edilebilen bu dönüşümle birlikte hekim-hasta arasındaki iletişim de değişmiştir. Bu nedenle, bu çalışmada fiziki hastadan e-hastaya geçişin iletişim çerçevesinde incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Yapılan literatür taraması sonucunda; fiziki hasta ve e-hasta arasında, özellikle de kurulan iletişim noktasında farklılıkların olduğu tespit edilmiş ve bu farklılıklar tablo halinde verilmiştir. Fiziki hastadan e-hastaya olan dönüşümün sağlık hizmetlerinden daha kolay yararlanma, coğrafi mesafeden kaynaklı sağlık hizmetlerine erişim kısıtlarını yok etme, zaman açısından hastaya avantaj sağlama gibi olumlu ve daha sınırlı bir ilişki, soğuk mekanik iletişim kurulması, hekimin hastanın duygusal durumunu anlamada sınırlanması gibi olumsuz sonuçlarının olabileceği görülmüştür. Bu dönüşümün olumlu sonuçlarının artırılması ve olumsuz sonuçlarının azaltılması gerekmektedir. Ayrıca özellikle uzaktan sağlık hizmetlerinin gitgide yaygınlaşmasıyla bu hasta tipi daha da artacaktır. Bu nedenle, günümüz hekimlerinin bu hastalara uyum sağlaması, geleceğin hekimlerinin bu hasta tipini bilerek gelmesi ve elektronik ortamda hastalar için dezavantaj oluşturacak iletişim becerilerinin hekimlere kazandırılması önem arz etmektedir.
While in recent years the treatment of diseases has only been used faced-to-face methods, with the use of technology especially in health, this situation has begun to move into the internal environment. As a result of the patient's switch to the electronic environment, electronic patients (e-patients) appeared. Especially since the 2000s, e-patients have begun to multiply with tele-trip and mobile applications, which have started to be widely used. In this direction, it can be stated that this type of patient appears over time, and therefore there is a conversion. With this transformation, which can be expressed as a transition from physical patient to e-patient, the communication between the doctor and the patient has also changed. Therefore, this study aims to study the transition from physical patient to e-patient in the communication framework. The scan of the literature was found that there were differences between the physical patient and the e-patient, especially in the established contact point, and these differences were given in the table. The conversion from physical patient to e-patient has been shown to have negative consequences such as the ease of health care, the elimination of the restrictions on access to medical services from a geographical distance, the provision of a positive and more limited relationship to the patient in terms of time, the establishment of cold mechanical communication, the limitation of the doctor in understanding of the patient’s emotional state. The positive results of this conversion should be increased and the negative results should be reduced. This type of patient will also increase, especially with the increasing spread of remote health care services. Therefore, it is important that the doctors of today adapt to these patients, that the doctors of the future come consciously to this type of patient, and that the doctors are given communication skills that will be disadvantaged for the patients in the electronic environment.
While only face-to-face methods have been used in the treatment of diseases in the past years, this situation has started to shift to the online environment, especially with the use of technology in health. Electronic patients (e-patients) have appeared as a result of the shift of patients to electronic media. An e-patient can be defined as a person who conducts research on the Internet for any of his ailments and solves this ailment by interviewing his physician through online platforms. In other words, e-patients prefer to meet online rather than face-to-face while using the health service. Especially with tele-medicine and mobile applications that have been widely used since the 2000s, e-patients have started to multiply. In this direction, it can be stated that this type of patient appears over time, therefore, there is also a transformation. With this transformation, which can be expressed as a transition from the physical patient to the e-patient, the communication between the physician and the patient has also changed. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to examine the transition from physical patient to e-patient within the framework of communication. As a result of the literature review; It has been determined that there are differences between the physical patient and the e-patient, especially in the point of communication established, and these differences are given in a table. The negative consequences of the transformation from physical patient to e-patient, such as benefiting from health services more easily, eliminating the restrictions on accessing health services due to geographical distance, providing advantage to the patient in terms of time, establishing a cold mechanical communication, and limiting the physician's understanding of the patient's emotional state was found to be possible. It is necessary to increase the positive results of this transformation and reduce the negative consequences. In addition, this type of patient will increase even more, especially with the spread of remote health services. For this reason, it is important for today's physicians to adapt to these patients, future physicians to come knowing this patient type, and to gain communication skills that will create a disadvantage for patients in the electronic environment.
