Fosil yakıtların yakın gelecekte tükenecek olması, bilim adamlarını alternatif yakıtlar ile ilgili çalışmalar yapmaya teşvik etmiştir. Hidrojen gazının suyun elektrolizi ile elde edilmesi, çevreye zararlı egzoz emisyonu vermemesi, doğa dostu olması, fosil kökenli bir yakıt olmaması gibi özelliklerinden dolayı karayolu taşıtları, deniz yolu taşıtları, hava taşıtlarında, tarım makinelerinde kullanılabilir. Elektrikli araçların pahalı olması, günümüzde içten yanmalı pistonlu motorların üretiminin devam etmesi bu araçlarda alternatif yakıt kullanımını daha cazip hale getirmiştir. Bu çalışmada hidrojen yakıtının, kara yolu taşıtlarında, deniz yolu taşıtlarında, hava araçlarında ve tarım makinelerinde kullanılmasının avantaj ve dezavantajları, hidrojen yakıtının özellikleri ve diğer yakıtlarla kıyaslaması yapılmıştır. Hidrojenin, benzinli ve dizel araçlarda, kara, hava, deniz taşıtlarında alternatif yakıt olarak kullanılması ile ülkemize hem ekonomik hem de ekolojik olmak üzere her açıdan katkı sağlanacaktır. Ülkemizde hidrojen üretimine geçmesi ekonomik olarak dışa bağımlılıktan kurtaracak en önemli projelerden biri olacaktır. Üç tarafı denizlerle kaplı olan ülkemizin üretiminin temel kaynağı su olan hidrojen üretimine geçişi diğer ülkelere göre daha ekonomik ve hızlı olacaktır. Fosil yakıtlara olan ortalama %87 bağımlılığın ülkemiz açısından ekonomik strese ve yapılabilecek önemli yatırımlara engel teşkil etmektedir. Aynı zamanda yıllık 230 milyar dolarlık bir enerji ithalatı cari açıkların en önemli sebebi olmakta ve bu aynı zamanda istihdamın gelişmesini, refahın artmasını engellemektedir. Fotovoltaik panellerden elde edilecek elektrik enerjisi ile suyun elektrolizinden hidrojen üreten yöntemle 1 m3 sudan 108.7 kg hidrojen elde olunabilmektedir ki, bu 422 litre benzine eşdeğerdir. Bu veriye göre üretim girdi maliyetlerini ciddi manada azaltmaktadır ve hidrojen enerjisi ülkemiz için bağımsız milli ve sürdürülebilir bir ekonomik yapıya sahip olmasını sağlayacaktır.
The fact that fossil fuels will disappear in the near future has encouraged scientists to do research on alternative fuels. Hydrogen gas can be used in road vehicles, maritime vehicles, aircraft, agricultural machinery due to its characteristics, such as it is obtained by water electrolysis, does not give harmful emissions to the environment, is friendly to nature, is not a fossil fuel. The cost of electric vehicles, the continuation of the production of internal-burning piston engines today has made the alternative fuel use in these vehicles more attractive. The study compared the advantages and disadvantages of the use of hydrogen fuel in road vehicles, maritime vehicles, aircraft and agricultural machines, the characteristics of hydrogen fuel and other fuels. The use of hydrogen as alternative fuel in car, gas and diesel vehicles, land, air and sea vehicles will contribute to our country in all aspects, both economic and ecological. The transition to hydrogen production in our country will be one of the most important projects to save from external dependence economically. The transition to the hydrogen production, the main source of our country’s production, which is covered by the three sides of the sea, will be more economical and fast than other countries. The average 87 percent dependence on fossil fuels prevents economic stress and significant investments that can be made. At the same time, an annual energy import of $230 billion is the main cause of economic disadvantages, which also prevents the growth of employment and the growth of prosperity. The electricity that will be obtained from photovoltaic panels can be obtained 108.7 kg of hydrogen from 1 m3 water by the method of producing hydrogen from the water's electrolysis, which is equivalent to 422 liters of gasoline. According to this data, production will seriously reduce its income costs and the hydrogen energy will ensure that our country has an independent national and sustainable economic structure.

Hydrogen in gasoline and diesel vehicles, land, air and sea vehicles, will contribute to our country in all respects, both economically and ecologically. The transition to hydrogen production in our country will be one of the most important projects that will economically save it from external dependence. The transition of our country's production, which is covered by the seas on three sides, to hydrogen production, the main source of which is water, will be more economical and faster than in other countries. On average, 87% of the dependence on fossil fuels is an obstacle to economic stress and significant investments that can be made from the point of view of our country. At the same time, an annual energy import of 230 billion dollars is the most important reason for the current account deficit, and this also prevents the development of employment and the increase of prosperity. With the electrical energy obtained from photovoltaic panels, 108.7 kg of hydrogen can be obtained from 1 m3 of water by the method that generates hydrogen from the electrolysis of water, which is equivalent to 422 liters of gasoline. According to this data, production significantly reduces input costs, and hydrogen energy will ensure that our country has an independent national and sustainable economic structure.
