Kadın cinayetlerinin artmasıyla birlikte, kadın cinayetleri haberleri de medyada yoğun bir şekilde işlenmektedir. Toplumsal bir sorun olarak nitelendirilen kadın cinayetlerinin medyada nasıl konumlandırıldığı ve temsil edildiği bu çalışmanın temel konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda bu çalışma, kadın cinayeti haberlerinin sunumundaki haber dili ve söylem pratiklerini ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, bir erkek tarafından öldürülen ancak cesedi cinayetin işlendiği gün değil, aramaların yapıldığı beşinci gün sonunda bulunan Pınar Gültekin örneği çalışmaya konu edilmiştir. Çalışma, birbirinden farklı sahiplik yapısı ve yayın politikaları olan Yeni Şafak, Birgün, Cumhuriyet ve Habertürk gazetelerinde 21 Temmuz 2020 tarihinde yayınlanan ilgili konuya ilişkin haberleri kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada, dört gazeteye ilişkin 19 haberden oluşan bir örneklem van Dijk’ın eleştirel söylem analiziyle çözümlenmiştir. Çözümlemede haber dilinin makro ve mikro özelliklerine odaklanılmış, haber dilinin açık anlamından ziyade örtük yapıları ortaya konmaya çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre farklı yayın politikaları ve sahiplik yapılarında olmalarına rağmen, yapılan analizlerde kadın cinayetlerindeki haberlerin söylemsel pratiklerinin benzerlik gösterdiği gözlenmektedir. Bulgularda konunun bağlamından koparıldığı, belirli etiketleme ve kalıpyargıların kullanıldığı, haberin failin ifadelerine ya da kadının özel hayatına dayandırıldığı görülmektedir. Ayrıca haberlerde cinayete ilişkin normalleştirme, haklılaştırma, onaylama, hikâyeleştirme ve gerekçelendirme gibi söylem ve sunum şekilleriyle cinsiyetçi söylemlerin eril bakış açısıyla anlamlandırılarak yeniden üretildiği ve pekiştirildiği bulgulanmıştır.
With the increase of femicides, news about femicides is also covered intensely in the media. The positioning and representation of femicides, which are a social problem, in the media constitutes the main subject of this study. In this context, this study aims to reveal the language and discourse practices in the presentation of femicide news. Accordingly, the example of Pınar Gültekin, who was killed by a man but whose body was found at the end of the fifth day of the search, not the day of the murder, was the subject of the study. The study covers the news on the subject published on 21 July 2020 in Yeni Şafak, Birgün, Cumhuriyet and Habertürk newspapers, which have different ownership structure and publishing policies. In the study, a sample of 19 news articles related to four newspapers was analyzed by critical discourse analysis. In the analysis, the macro and micro features of the news language were focused on, and the implicit structures of the news language were tried to be revealed rather than its explicit meaning. According to the findings, although they have different broadcasting policies and ownership structures, it is observed that the discursive practices of the news on femicide show similarities. The findings show that the subject is detached from its context, certain labeling and stereotypes are used, and the news is based on the statements of the perpetrator or the private life of the woman. In addition, it was found that sexist discourses were reproduced and reinforced by means of a masculine point of view, by means of discourse and presentation such as normalization, justification, affirmation, storytelling, and justification regarding murder in the news.
