Educational sectors implemented various reforms to continuously deliver the teaching and learning processes to students since the Covid-19 hits the world. Teachers in higher education, taking the responsibility of implementing the curriculum and the high expectation to the teachers to deliver quality education, suddenly experienced different roadblocks with the absence of face-to-face instruction. A qualitative case study research design was employed as this paper attempted to listen and give voice to the challenges experienced by global south educators, particularly in one of the higher education institutions in the Philippines. Using the thematic analysis, three themes or divisions emerged: digital, teachnology, and communication presence. The researchers discussed the findings through the lenses of participants’ experiences. Further, implications for recommendations for each division were presented in response to the growing challenges of emergency remote teaching.
