The urban texture of Van is an important value of Anatolia, formed by the accumulation of the history, architecture, social and cultural characteristics of many civilizations in time. Van residential architecture, as in other regions of Anatolia It was formed and developed within the framework of some factors such as geographical and climatic features, building materials and construction techniques, socio-economic structure, family structure and beliefs. Traditional Van houses were built on a stone foundation with the adobe masonry technique. Flat roofs supported by wooden beams, which have been found in many parts of Anatolia since the first settlements, are also among the architectural features of traditional Van houses. They were generally built in the plan type with an inner anteroom. As a result of the research and literature review on traditional Van houses, it has been seen that the number of registered houses is one. It has been understood that no conservation work has been carried out for the traditional Van houses, which were partially destroyed or damaged after the earthquake in 2011. The aim of this study is to make a detailed examination and evaluation on the plan features of traditional Van houses, which are one of the important elements of the historical urban texture. As a result of these examinations, it is also aimed to create a plan typology and to contribute to revealing the original value and importance of traditional Van houses. In line with the purpose of the study, 35 residences in Van's Tusba and İpekyolu (former Van Central district) districts that were able to survive and were destroyed after or before the 2011 earthquake were examined. In the light of all the data obtained, the plan typology of the Traditional Van Houses was created.
