Bu çalışmanın amacı, Biyoloji öğrencilerinin “Küresel ısınma” kavramıyla ilgili bilişsel yapılarını tespit etmektir. Bu çalışma nitel araştırma özelliğinde olup, nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarından durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Necmettin Erbakan üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Biyoloji Eğitimi Ana Bilim Dalında eğitime devam eden 4. Sınıfta bulunan 29 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma tamamen gönüllülük esasına dayanmaktadır. Verilerin toplanmasında bağımsız kelime ilişkilendirme testi kullanılmış ve elde edilen veriler içerik analizi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Değerlendirme sonuçlarına göre kategoriler oluşturulmuş, her kategorideki cevap kelimelerin frekans değerleri ve yüzdeleri hesaplanarak tablolar oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma verileri toplam 5 kategori altında toplanmıştır. Bu kategoriler içerisinde cevap kelime sayısı ve aynı zamanda cevap kelimelerin toplam frekansı en yüksek olan kategori “Küresel ısınmanın olası etkileri” isimli kategoridir. “Küresel ısınmanın doğal ve yapay nedenleri” isimli kategori ise ikinci sırada yer almaktadır. Diğer kategoriler sırasıyla “Küresel ısınmayı tanımlama kategorisi”, “Küresel ısınmanın çevresel etkileri” ve “Küresel ısınmadan etkilenen canlılar” şeklinde sıralanmaktadır. Bu kategorilerin frekans ve yüzde oranları düşük olup, cevap kelime sayıları da azdır. Ayrıca kavram yanılgısı içeren ve herhangi bir kategoriye dahil edilmeyen kelimeler ise metin içerisinde verilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, kelime ilişkilendirme testlerinin, bilişsel yapıyı otaya çıkarmada ve kavram yanılgılarını tespit etmede etkili bir teknik olduğu görülmektedir.
The aim of this study is to identify the cognitive structures of biologist students related to the concept of "global warming". This study is characterized by research and has been used by the status study scheme from quality research approaches. Examples of the study of Necmettin Erbakan University Education Faculty of Biology Education Main Science Division continues to educate 4. There are 29 students in the class. The work is based on volunteering. In the collection of data, the independent word association test was used and the data obtained was evaluated using content analysis. According to the evaluation results, categories were created, tables were created by calculating the frequency values and percentages of the word answers in each category. The research data is collected in 5 categories. These categories include the number of answer words and the highest total frequency of answer words in the category "Potential effects of global warming". The category "Natural and artificial causes of global warming" is ranked second. Other categories are ranked as "Global warming definition category", "Global warming's environmental effects" and "Global warming-affected animals" respectively. The frequency and percentage of these categories are low, and the number of answers is also small. Also, words that contain conceptual errors and are not included in any category are given in the text. As a result, word-related tests appear to be an effective technique in removing the cognitive structure and identifying conceptual errors.

The free word association test was used to collect the data and the obtained data were evaluated using the content analysis. According to the evaluation results, categories were formed, the frequencies and percentages of answer words in each category were calculated and tables were created. Data of the research were collected under a total of 5 categories. Within these categories, the category with the highest number of answer words and at the same time with the highest total frequency of answer words is "Possible effects of global warming". The second category is named as "Natural and artificial causes of global warming". Other categories are listed as "The category of defining Global warming", "Environmental effects of global warming" and "Living things that are affected by Global warming". The frequencies and percentages of these categories and their number of answer words are low. In addition, the words that contain misconceptions and are not included in any categories are given within the text. As a result, it is seen that word association test is an effective technique in detecting cognitive structures and detecting misconceptions.
