Abstract This paper provides some considerations on the spatial behavior of some selected demographic indicators for the Cuban population classified as rural at the municipal level. The indicators chosen for this differentiation were: proportion of rural population, rural population density, rural growth rate, rural masculinity index, crude rural birth rate, degree of aging of the rural population and rate of the total migratory balance referring only to the rural population. The study was carried out based on the information published by the National Statistics Office and refers to the year 1999. As a fundamental result, a differentiation is observed, which, although it follows some traditional spatial behavior patterns, shows phenomena related to recent changes. that take place in our country and that directly affect Cuban rural spaces
