Edebiyatın, birçok bilim dalıyla olduğu gibi coğrafya ile de oldukça yakın bir ilişkisi vardır. Coğrafya her şeyden önce edebi esere bir mekân sunarken, şiir türüne de geniş bir imge yelpazesi açar. Şehir, köy, dağ, nehir, göl, vadi, vb. öğeler şairin bir duyguyu ve düşünceyi benzeştirdiği, somutlaştırdığı yegâne coğrafi uzamlardır. Bu uzamların nasıl algılanıp, yorumlanacağı ise şair ile uzam arasındaki ilişkiye bağlıdır. Bir diğer deyişle söz konusu coğrafi uzamın şairde yarattığı duygulara bağlıdır. Edebi eserlerde yer alan coğrafi uzamlar farklı dallarda incelenebilir. Bertrand Westphal’in coğrafyayı merkeze alan jeoeleştiri (géocritique) kuramı ise tek bir yazardaki ya da bir eserdeki coğrafi uzamları incelemeyi değil, tek bir coğrafi uzamı birçok yazar ve eserde inceleyerek söz konusu uzamın genel değerini ortaya koymaya çalışır. Ona göre diğer tüm kuramların aksine jeoeleştiri coğrafya merkezlidir (géocentré) ve uzamı tüm tartışmaların ortasına koyar. Bu makalede, edebiyat ile coğrafya arasındaki ilişkiden yola çıkılarak, coğrafi uzamların edebiyattaki yeri, işlevi ve değeri gibi hususlar göz önüne alınmış, Westphal’in coğrafya merkezli kuramından hareketle Anadolu coğrafyası çalışmanın merkezine konmuştur. Özellikle daha kısıtlı bir anlatım alanı olan şiirde Anadolu’ya ait uzamların sahip oldukları özellikleriyle ne tür kullanımlara kapı araladığı incelenmiş ve bu bağlamda Fransız şiirinden seçilen örneklerde, Anadolu coğrafyasına dair uzamların nasıl işlendikleri yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır.
Literature, like many disciplines of science, has a very close relationship with geography. Geography first and foremost offers a place to literary works, while the poem also opens a wide range of images to the genre. City, village, mountain, river, lake, valley, etc. The elements are the only geographical lengths that the poet resembles a feeling and thought. How and how these longs are perceived and interpreted depends on the relationship between the poet and the long. In other words, it depends on the emotions that the geographical length creates in the poet. The geographical extensions in the literary works can be studied in different branches. Bertrand Westphal’s geocritique theory, which focuses on geography, does not seek to study the geographical extensions in a single author or in one work, but a single geographical extensions in many writers and works, attempts to reveal the general value of that extensions. According to him, unlike all other theories, geocentré is geocentré and puts it in the middle of all the discussions. In this article, starting from the relationship between literature and geography, the place, function and value of the geographical spheres in literature were taken into account, and with the Westphal's geographically-centric theory, the Anatolian geography was placed at the center of the study.
