Bu çalışmanın amacı, 2013-2020 yılları arasında Türkiye’de STEM ve eğitimde kullanımına yönelik yapılan lisansüstü tezleri inceleyerek alan eğitimi hakkında genel yönelimleri belirlemektir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yaklaşımlarından doküman incelemesi yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında incelenen 150 araştırmaya YÖK Ulusal Tez Merkezi’nden “STEM” anahtar kelimesi kullanılarak ulaşılmıştır. Tespit edilen lisansüstü tezlerin betimsel içerik analizi Sözbilir ve Kutu (2008) tarafından geliştirilmiş olan “Makale Sınıflama Formu” yardımıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışmalar tür, tamamlanma yılı, yazar cinsiyeti, örneklem profili, örneklem büyüklüğü, alan, üniversite, araştırma deseni, araştırma yöntemi, veri toplama araçları ve veri analiz yöntemleri açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmanın güvenirliğini sağlamak amacıyla tekrar kodlama güvenirliği hesaplanmış ve veriler frekanslara dayalı olarak tablolar halinde sunulmuş ve yorumlanmıştır. Çalışma bulgularına göre, incelenen lisansüstü tezlerin büyük bir bölümünün 2019 yılında Gazi Üniversitesi’nde kadın araştırmacılar tarafından STEM’in fen bilimleri eğitiminde kullanımının ortaokul öğrencilerinin başarı, beceri, problem çözme, yaratıcılık, muhakeme, bilişsel düşünme kalıcılığa etkisini incelemek üzere çoğunlukla yüksek lisans düzeyinde, karma desende gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler çoğunlukla likert tipi anket/ölçekler ve başarı testleriyle toplanmış ve betimsel analiz yöntemleri ile analiz edildiği tespit edilmiştir.
The aim of this study is to determine the general guidelines on field education by examining the STEM and graduate theses for use in education in Turkey between 2013-2020. In the study, the method of document examination from the quality research approaches was used. The 150 studies studied within the framework of the study were achieved using the keyword "STEM" from the YÖK National Thesis Center. The visual content analysis of the detected graduate theses was done with the help of the "Makale Classification Form" developed by Speechable and Box (2008). The studies have been evaluated in terms of type, completion year, author’s gender, sample profile, sample size, field, university, research design, research method, data collection tools and data analysis methods. In order to ensure the reliability of the study, the re-coding reliability was calculated and the data was presented and interpreted in tables based on frequencies. According to the findings of the study, a large portion of the undergraduate theses studied in 2019 by women researchers at the University of Gazi in the STEM's use in science education was carried out in the karma design, mostly at the master level, to study the impact of high school students on success, skills, problem solving, creativity, judgment, cognitive thinking durability. The obtained data was mostly collected through liquid-type surveys/dimensions and success tests and found to be analyzed by visual analysis methods.
The aim of this study was to determine the years of 2013-2020 and the general orientations of STEM education by studying postgraduate thesis about the area made for use in education in Turkey. In this study, one of the qualitative research approaches, document analysis method was used. 150 researches which were examined in the scope of the study were reached by using “STEM” keyword from YOK National Thesis Center. The descriptive content analysis of the postgraduate theses was carried out with the help of the “Article Classification Form”. The studies were evaluated in terms of genre, year of completion, author gender, sample profile, sample size, area, university, research design, research method, data collection tools and data analysis methods. In order to ensure the reliability of the study, re-coding reliability was calculated and the data were presented and interpreted in tables based on frequencies. According to the findings of the study, the majority of the postgraduate theses examined in 2019 by Gazi University by female researchers in STEM science education in secondary school students success, skills, problem solving, creativity, reasoning, cognitive thinking permanence to examine the effect of permanence at the graduate level, mixed pattern. Obtained data were mostly collected by likert type questionnaires/scales and achievement tests and analyzed by descriptive analysis methods.
