Double Major Programs, implemented at the undergraduate level at universities since 1998 in Turkey, enable students who are able to meet the conditions to graduate from two different majors at the same time. The present study aims to investigate these programs in all aspects from the perspective of German Language Teaching Departments. To address this, a questionnaire was developed to collect data and it was conducted with 513 German Language Teaching Program students at six universities in Turkey. The results of the questionnaire showed that the interest of the participants in double major was much higher than expected. The participants stated they wanted to do double major especially to increase their chances of being appointed in the future thanks to having two diplomas. Moreover, the majority of the participants wanted to do double major in English Language Teaching Program and the main reasons found for their program choice were about their good level of English language knowledge and the high rates of appointment in that program. The participants also indicated their interdisciplinary study skills improved by the help of double major and mentioned many other both professional and cognitive benefits of it. However, to do double major was evaluated by the participants as being stressful and a difficult program because of its time and workload. According to the results of this study, some suggestions were given to improve double major programs more and to eliminate its problems.
