It is a requirement to have boundaries for a healthy communication and a safe learning environment. No child will be born consciously. The duty of the parent is to help the child learn these limits and gain self-discipline over time. This is possible with disciplinary training. Discipline is an important activity to give the child the rules of society, the right behavior, the short development and all the necessary qualities to be a happy and sufficient individual in the process of adaptation to society, by setting the limits that the child needs. What is important in the sustainability of the discipline is that the inner-inherited sense of responsibility is also the formation of self-control in the child. This means that the disciplinary process does not use reward, punishment or obedience training. Because reward and punishment are externally controlled behavior management techniques, and children are unable to develop self-control skills when controlled by external guidelines. The use of reward and punishment strategies as it is not possible to educate high children with the ability to co-audit, the continuous use of reward and punishment can also lead to the deterioration of the relations between parents and children. With this thought, this study has studied whether it is possible to discipline children without the use of reward and punishment strategies. When the field is studied in summer, it is seen that there are non-autoritary discipline forms that do not require reward and punishment. Through these approaches, research has been attempted to identify strategies that can be used to discipline children. These are: unconditional love, connecting to the child’s feelings, building real relationships with the child, accepting the cry of the children, taking into account the developmental characteristics of the children, setting limits, offering limited options, creating routines, focusing on the cause of behavior and not modeling.
