This research was conducted to examine the effects of nursing students’ personality traits on eating behaviors. The sample of this descriptive study consisted of 150 nursing students studying in the Faculty of Health Sciences. The data were collected using the “Personal Information Form” ,which determines socio-demographic characteristics, the “Dutch Eating Behaviour Questionnaire” to determine students ‘ eating behavior, and the Ten-item Personality Inventory scale which determines personality traits. Frequency, mean, standard deviation, Kruskal-Wallis, Mann-Whitney U tests were used to evaluate the data obtained. The average age of the students participating in the study is 18.47 + .756 and 51% are girls. “Emotional Balancing” sub-dimension, which has the highest average score when the students ‘personality traits are evaluated, has the highest average score when the students’ eating attitudes are evaluated. “Behavior” has been determined. It was determined that there was a positive relationship between the responsibility dimension, which is one of the personality traits of students, and emotional eating behavior (p<0.05). It has been determined that the personal characteristics of nursing students affect eating behavior and that the students exhibit external eating behaviors.
