Günümüzde teknolojik gelişmelerden dolayı iletişimin hızı artmıştır. İletişim, özelde bireylere çok büyük kazanımlar getiren bir faktördür. Teknolojinin gelişmesine bağlı olarak, iletişimdeki araçlar, ülkelerarası ticaretin, bilginin ve kültürel paylaşımın yapıldığı, bireyler arasında da sosyalleşme ve bağ kurmanın vazgeçilmez unsurları olmuştur. İletişim teknolojileri alanındaki gelişmeler, paylaşım ve tartışmanın esas olduğu bir medya ortamı oluşturduğundan dolayı, insanlara, düşüncelerini ve eserlerini paylaşabilecekleri imkanlar sunmaktadır. Bu imkanların oluşturduğu ortamlara “sosyal medya ortamı” adı verilmektedir. Sosyal medya ortamı, bireyleri, teknolojik bir araç kullanarak bir araya getirmesi ve aralarındaki etkileşimi arttırmasından dolayı önemli bir oluşumdur. Sosyal medya aynı zamanda, bilgi paylaşımını da kolaylaştırmaktadır. Sosyal medya, toplumun ve teknolojinin gelişmesine olumlu olarak etki ettiği gibi kullanımın farklı ve olumsuz yönleri de görülmektedir. Bunların yanı sıra sosyal medya, toplumsal olarak bireyler arasında, sosyal ilişkileri de etkilemektedir. Bu araştırmada amaç, ergenlik döneminde sosyal medya ortamının, ergenlerin sosyal ilişkilerini ne yönde etkilediğini ortaya koymaktır. Böylece bu yönde yapılacak çalışmalarda literatüre katkı sağlanmaya çalışılacaktır. Bunun için, 13-19 yaş aralığındaki genç bireylere, Kişisel Bilgi ve Görüşme Formu ile birlikte Sosyal Medya Bağımlılığı Ölçeği uygulanmış ve veriler SPSS 26’ya göre değerlendirilerek incelenmiştir.
Today, the speed of communication has increased due to technological developments. Communication is a factor that brings great benefits to individuals in particular. Depending on the development of technology, the means of communication, the country-wide trade, the knowledge and cultural sharing, and the socialization and the establishment of connections between individuals, have become essential elements. As developments in the field of communication technologies create a media environment where sharing and discussion is based, it offers people the possibilities for them to share their thoughts and works. The environment in which these possibilities are created is called the “social media environment”. The social media environment is an important form because it brings individuals together using a technological tool and increases interaction between them. Social media also facilitates the sharing of information. As social media has a positive impact on the development of society and technology, different and negative aspects of use are also seen. In addition to this, social media also affects social relationships between individuals. The aim of this study is to show how the social media environment in adolescence affects adolescents’ social relationships. In this way, the work will be done to contribute to literature. For this purpose, the Social Media Addiction Scale was applied to young individuals between the ages of 13 and 19 with the Personal Information and Conversation Form and the data was evaluated according to SPSS 26.

Social media also facilitates the sharing of information. While social media has a positive impact on the development of society and technology, it also has different and negative aspects. In addition, social media also affects social relationships among individuals in society. The aim of this study is to determine the extent to which social media in the adolescent period affects the social relationships of adolescents. To this end, the Personal Information and Opinion Form and the Social Media Addiction Scale were administered to young individuals aged 13-19, and the data was analyzed using SPSS 26.
