Özet:

The main purpose of this study is to evaluate the financial performances of companies registered in the Borsa Istanbul Tourism Index, using the Gray Relational Analysis (GIA) Method, which is one of the multiple decision-making techniques, by using the financial ratios. In order to make an evaluation, the liquidity, leverage and profitability ratios of 8 businesses traded in the BIST Tourism Index were created in line with the financial data of 2019, 2020 and 2021. In addition, with the aim of examining the structural situation of the sector, the financial data of the I-55 Accommodation sub-sector of the "Accommodation and Food Services Activities" sector organized under the title of sector balance sheets of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey for the years 2016-2020 were examined. As a result of the structural analysis, it has been observed that the asset structure of the tourism companies traded in BIST and the general sector mainly consists of fixed assets, while the passive structure of the sector mainly consists of debts, while in public companies it is observed that it consists of equity resources. As a result of the Gray Relational Analysis method, it has been determined that leverage ratios are more important than other ratios in financial performance ratios, and MAALT is in the first place in the financial performance ranking in all three years.
