Özet:

The purpose of this study is to examine descriptively the opinions of the teachers regarding the draft of the Teacher Performance Evaluation and Candidate Teacher Work and Procedures Regulation published in 2018 by the Ministry of National Education. The study was structured with a qualitative approach and conducted as a case study. For this reason, purposeful sampling was used and the opinions of 55 teachers working in various schools in Elazığ province center were taken in the study. A semi-structured question was used to get the views of the participants. The data was analyzed with descriptive and content analysis methods. At the end of the study, the teachers stated that this practice would damage the relationship between the teachers and the students, cause the teaching profession to lose more prestige, and cause many difficulties and injustice in practice. Teachers also stated that more objective assessment standards should be set and that parents, students and colleagues should not be included among the evaluating parties. According to the results obtained, various proposals were made to policy makers, practitioners and researchers.
