Data were collected through document analysis from 40 travel books. In the Social Studies Curriculum (2018), the concepts of traveler and travel book are mentioned only once. In the Social Studies 7th Grade Textbook, it is seen that the concept of "traveller" is used 29 times and the concept of "travel book" is used 18 times. It is understood that these concepts are not included in other classes. In the research, information about 40 travelogues, memoirs, letters and diaries, their name, author, nationality of the author, the years of the trip and the names of the sultans at the time of the trip were included. In addition, direct quotations were made from travelogues, memoirs, letters, and diaries, and it was tried to reveal which learning outcomes could be used in teaching. It can be said that the travel books are not included in the 5th and 6th grade textbooks in the social studies textbooks. Suggestions were made such as giving more space to travel books in the program and textbooks, using them in teaching skills and values, and training teachers, academicians, and writers on this subject.
