Sura el-Kevser was revealed as the 15th sura in Mecca. It is ranked 108th in the Qur'an. It consists of three short verses. It carries the subject of tawhid in the suras that were revealed in the first period. It reflects the characteristics of the Makki verses. Makki verses are short, effective and literary. The reason for this is to influence the interlocutor. Because presenting the message effectively is as important as the importance of the message. Otherwise, the message cannot be transmitted. For this reason, the verse endings of the surah are in harmony with each other. The reason for the revelation of the sura is the imputation of abter against the prophet. Because her sons were dying one by one. In the period of pre-Islamic age of ignorance, it was believed that when a person's lineage dried up, his trial would be over. Against this imputation, Allah revealed the sura el-Kevser to prophet. In this sura, Allah gave him and the believers the good news of Kevser. el-Kevser, as a concept, means Revelation, Islam, abundance, blessing and river. Allah also declared that the abtar were those deniers. The lineage of Muhammad continues from his daughter Fatima. Islam has 2 billion Muslims. On the other hand, there is no one who says that he is the grandson of Abu Jahl. Thus, the news of Kevser and abtar given by Islam can be seen even today. In this sura, the name of a certain person cannot be mentioned. Because the message is not intended for a specific person, but a type. Islam aims to bring people to the right path. Ignorant Arab belief has corrupted the belief just as it has corrupted the society. Salat and sacrifice are ordered only for Allah. It is ordered not to worship idols. Because the Meccans used to add shirk to their prayers (salat) and sacrifices. Shirk is believing in Allah, but also believing that he has partners. Tawhid is believing that Allah is one and has no partner. The verses end with the words “kevser”, “wa’nhar”, “abtar”. These are concise expressions in Arabic. It has the feature of influencing the listener in terms of language and meaning. The words Kevser and abtar are opposites of each other. The surah tells the truth with its opposite poles. For example: Light-darkness, width-narrowness, and infinity-finity. There are many valuable tafsir studies about this sura. There is a lot of information in them, but the reader wants a clear and effective explanation. Turkish translation is at the centre of this study. Six words of the surah are analysed. In this way, the emphasis of tawhid is revealed. In the Turkish translation of this, attention is paid to language aesthetics. In the conclusion part, there are messages obtained from the sura. Some of the messages: • Islam is the religion of tawhid, it forbids shirk. • • Although both are important, the purpose of worship takes precedence over its form. • • The children of the unbelievers became Muslims. In this way, the dead became alive metaphorically. • • There is worse, on the other hand, there is the worst. It is worse to lose the life of the world. Losing life both in this world and in the hereafter (ahirah) is worst. • • Faith is a river flowing into heaven. Denial is like poison that leads to hell. • • This sura should be translated in all its details for every language. It should also be read with understanding. Because the meaning of this sura gives positive energy to people. It brings discipline and morale.
