Bu çalışmada Türk kültüründen bağımsız olmayan ve doğrudan ortaokul seviyesindeki öğrencilerin epistemolojik inançlarını ölçmeye yönelik bir ölçek geliştirmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda öncelikle 64 maddeden oluşan bir madde havuzu oluşturulmuştur. Testin kapsam geçerliği için hazırlanan bu ön uygulama formu ölçek geliştirme ve epistemolojik inançlarla ilgili çalışmaları bulunan iki fen eğitim uzmanı tarafından incelenmiştir. Bu maddeler Kayseri ili Kocasinan İlçesindeki yedinci ve sekizinci sınıfta okuyan 700 yedinci ve sekizinci sınıf öğrencisine uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler üzerinden açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ve güvenirlik analizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Faktör analizleri sonucunda ölçeğin dört boyutlu bir yapıda olduğu bulunmuş ve doğrulanmıştır. Bu boyutlar kesin bilgi, bilginin kaynağı, öğrenme yeteneği doğuştandır ve bilginin gelişimi olarak isimlendirilmiştir. Ölçeğin Cronbach Alfa güvenirlik katsayısı “kesin bilgi” alt boyutu için .846, “bilginin kaynağı” alt boyutu için .812, “öğrenme yeteneği doğuştandır” alt boyutu için .610 ve bilginin gelişimi alt boyutu için .616 olarak bulunmuştur. Dolayısıyla ölçeğin güvenilir olduğu kabul edilmiştir. Nihai olarak ortaokul öğrencilerin fene yönelik epistemolojik inançlarını ölçmeyi amaçlayan ölçeğin geçerli ve güvenilir olduğu ve ortaokul düzeyindeki öğrencilerin epistemolojik inançlarını belirlemek amacıyla kullanılabileceği anlaşılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to develop a scale aimed at measuring the epistemological beliefs of students who are not independent of the Turkish culture and directly at the high school level. For this purpose, a material pool consisting of 64 items was first created. This pre-application form prepared for the scale validity of the test was studied by two scientists who have studied the scale development and studies related to epistemological beliefs. These materials were applied to 700 seventh and eighth-class students studying in the Seventh and Eighth-class in Kayseri or Kocasinan district. Analysis and reliability analyses have been carried out through the data obtained. Factor analysis has found and confirmed that the scale is in a four-dimensional structure. These dimensions are the source of accurate knowledge, the ability to learn, and are named as the development of knowledge. The Cronbach Alfa reliability ratio of the scale was found as .846 for the sub-dimension of "exact information", .812 for the sub-dimension of "information source", .610 for the sub-dimension of "learning ability is born" and .616 for the sub-dimension of knowledge development. The scale is believed to be reliable. It is finally understood that the scale aimed at measuring the epistemological beliefs of high school students to the fate is valid and reliable and that it can be used to determine the epistemological beliefs of high school students.
