Özet:

In general, organizations and actors that can be called religious revival in the public sphere have been encountered since the second half of the 1980s. It is argued that the secular boundaries of the public sphere are forced by these organizations and actors, and the efforts of these organizations and actors to find a place in the public sphere have become evident. There is a process that is called the return of religion or religious awakening, and in fact, this dynamism cannot be understood, especially in the West. This process, which started to be defined as “post-secularism”, focuses on the question of whether religion can be one of the “many” that make up the public sphere. Whether religion can be in harmony with the language and spirit of the public sphere as a “negotiation space” constitutes the main topic of post-secularism debates. In other words, the question of what kind of legitimacy the religion will create in terms of rational communication practice with a single emphasis on truth is discussed. It is seen that secularization theories are also being questioned due to this religious revival. It is stated by many researchers that there has been a development in the opposite direction of the claim that religion is sent out of modern life forever and its reflections on practice are examined. Why did religion come back or never left, or is there a new phase of secularism? The answers to these questions are sought. In this study, besides these discussions in the literature, what secularization theories say and whether or not an activism can be mentioned in opposition to secularization theories is discussed.
