As one of the books kept in the Ottoman Imperial Council, the Ahkâm Registers involved various matters such as land conflicts between villagers, issues related to foundations, robberies, actions of debts, seizure of property, complaints about administrative and military officials, etc. The Ahkâm Registers are one of the rich sources from which we can obtain important information about the administrative, social, and economic issues of any region to be studied. Like many other eyalets, the Ahkâm Registers of Karaman had also been kept since 1742. Ending in 1878, this sequence consists of a total of 39 registers. Karaman Ahkâm Registers contain verdicts for the districts of Konya, Beyşehir, Nevşehir, Kayseri, Niğde, Aksaray, Larende, and Akşehir. The present study classifies, analyses, and evaluates various lawsuits involving many different issues relating to Larende and its surrounding villages between the years 1742 and 1745. In this way, it is aimed to make a modest contribution to the studies on the relationships between central and provincial governments.
