In this study, it was aimed to determine the dictionary-using habits of secondary school students. For this purpose, the research was planned in the survey model and a questionnaire form was used as a data collection tool. The universe of the research consists of secondary school students studying in the city center of Isparta. The sample consists of a total of 609 secondary school students to whom the questionnaire form was applied. The findings obtained in the research were handled within the framework of the research questions and were examined under six main headings considering the related subjects. Some prominent findings of the research are as follows: Almost all the students (97.5%) have a dictionary. Dictionaries are mainly used to learn the meanings of words. Dictionaries are mainly used at school and students need a dictionary outside of school within the framework of Turkish lessons. Although dictionaries are mostly used in schools, more than half of the students (60.9%) do not regularly bring a dictionary to Turkish lessons. There are also those who use a dictionary every day or a few times a week (57.6%) and those who do not use a dictionary at all (7.4%). In addition, the rate of those who regularly use the vocabulary book (18.1%) is low, and the vocabulary book is generally used within the framework of the Turkish course. As a result, dictionaries are mostly seen as a lesson tool, and the dictionary-using does not turn into a habit enough in secondary school students.
