Çoklu ortam özelliğine sahip yeni medya, internet aracılığıyla yapılan iletişim olanaklarını ifade etmekte olup geleneksel medyanın gösterdiği monolog yapıyı ortadan kaldırarak süreksiz ve kesintisiz bir iletişime olanak sağlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda herkese ulaşma imkânı sağlayan bir araç olarak yeni medyanın önemli ve alternatif bir medya aracına dönüştüğü görülmektedir. Söz konusu önem yeni medyayı, demokrasinin yasama, yürütme ve yargıdan sonra dördüncü kuvveti olarak konumlanmasına neden olmuş bulunmaktadır. Siyasal, ekonomik ve toplumsal hayata katılım yollarını çeşitlendiren bir kavram olarak yeni medya, bireylerin toplum hayatının her bir alanına kolaylıkla girmelerini sağlayacak önemli dijital olanaklar sağlayan bir araç olarak dikkat çekmektedir. Bu araç önemli ve yeni bir kamusal alan yaratmakta olup iletişim açısından yeni ortamlar yaratmaktadır. İnternet, sosyal medya ve çeşitli sosyal ağlar gibi yeni medya ortamları hem sosyal ilişki biçimlerini hem de niteliğini değiştirmekte bu bağlamda da toplumsal hayatı yeniden şekillendiren önemli araçlar olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Söz konusu araçlar ağlar yoluyla toplumu bir ağ toplumuna dönüştürmekte ve bu ağlar ile önemli toplumsal dönüşümleri sağlamaktadır. Yeni medya ile dijital teknolojiye dayalı bir toplum oluştuğundan, toplumsallaşmanın araçları da değişmekte dijital bir toplum oluşmakta, bireylerin ve toplumun düşünce biçimleri değişmektedir. Yeni medya ortamlarıyla ortaya çıkan yeni toplumsallaşma biçiminin hızlı bilgi paylaşımı ve karşılıklı etkileşim açısından önemli imkanlar sağladığı ancak yüz yüze iletişim, dokunma ve hissetme kültürüne dayalı ilişki kurma biçimleri açısından eksik ve başarısız bir toplumsallaşmaya neden olduğu ve toplumsal olarak önemli sorunlar yarattığı göze çarpmaktadır. Yeni medya toplumsallaşmasının doğurduğu en önemli sorun olarak yabancılaşmış bir toplum yapısı dikkat çekmekte olup sosyalleşme alanında toplumsallaşmaktan daha çok yalnızlaşan ve bireyselleşen bir toplumun varlığı dikkat çekmektedir. Baudrillard’a göre üretim düzeninin yerini tüketim düzeninin almasıyla simülasyon evrenine girilmiştir. Simülasyon evreninde her şey simülakra dönüşmüş böylece insanlar gerçeklik ilkesinin mevcut olduğu zamanlardaki toplumsal hedeflerden koparak, hayallerini, ütopyalarını kaybetmişlerdir ve kendileri de simülasyonun bir parçası olarak kendilerinin ötesine geçerek, görünüme başka bir deyişle simülakra dönüşmüşlerdir. Hayallerin ve toplumsal ideallerin sonlandığı, herkesin yalnızlaştığı, bireysel değerlerin hâkim olduğu bir evrende hapsolan insanlar, maddi olarak kayıp yaşamamak ve günlük yaşamlarında var oluşlarını ya da kimlik sahibi olmayı yine sistemin istediği şekilde başka bir deyişle tüketim temelinde devam ettirmek zorunda kalmışlardır. Sistemin oluşturduğu değer ve ahlak sistemi temelinde kod üzerinden işlemselleşen insan kısaca simülasyon evreninde sistemin devamlılığını sağlayan bir göstergeye dönüşmüştür. Baudrillard’a göre kitle iletişim araçlarının tek görevi simülasyon üretmektir. Mevcut gerçekliği yok ederek yerine kendi gerçeklerini koyarak aslında iletişim sürecini gerçeğin yerini alan bir modele dönüşmüştür.

The new media with the characteristic of multiple media is expressing the possibilities of communication through the internet and eliminates the monological structure shown by traditional media, enabling continuous and uninterrupted communication. In this context, it appears that the new media, as a means that allows access to everyone, has become an important and alternative medium. This importance has led to the new media to become the fourth force of democracy after legislation, enforcement and justice. As a concept that diversifies the ways of participating in political, economic and social life, the new media draws attention as a tool providing important digital opportunities that will allow individuals to easily enter every field of social life. This tool creates an important and new public space and creates new environments in terms of communication. New media environments, such as the Internet, social media and various social networks, change both the forms and nature of social relationships, and in this context they stand out as important tools for re-forming social life. Those tools transform society into a network society through networks and provide significant social transformations with these networks. As new media and a society is formed based on digital technology, the tools of socialization are also formed a digital society that changes, the ways of thinking of individuals and society are changing. The new form of socialization that emerges with the new media environments provides significant possibilities in terms of rapid information sharing and mutual interaction, but in terms of the forms of relationships based on the culture of face-to-face communication, touching and feeling, it causes a failed and failed socialization and creates significant social problems. As the most important problem the new media socialization generates, a strangled social structure is attracted to the presence of a society that is more solitary and individualized than socialization in the field of socialization. According to Baudrillard, the order of production was replaced by the order of consumption in the simulation universe. In the simulation universe, everything has become a simulation so that people have lost their dreams, utopies, dissociated from the social objectives of the time when the principle of reality exists, and they have become a simulation, in other words, by moving beyond themselves as part of the simulation. People who are imprisoned in an universe where dreams and social ideals end, where everyone is lonely, where individual values rule, have not been materially lost and have to continue their existence or identity in their daily lives, in other words, on the basis of consumption, as the system wants. The value and the moral system created by the system and the human processing through the code has briefly turned into an indicator that ensures the continuity of the system in the simulation universe. According to Baudrillard, the only task of mass communication means is to produce simulations. By destroying the existing reality, it has actually turned its own facts into a model that replaces the communication process.
