Abstract:

With the latest developments in science and technology, new trends have begun to form. There have been radical changes in the educational systems to follow these trends. When we look at our educational programs, it is also aimed at providing more qualified learning through higher-level thinking skills in achievements (MEB, 2018). As top skills say, critical thinking, creative thinking, reflective thinking, analytical thinking, metabular (supernatural) thinking, side thinking (lateral) etc. It is possible to talk about their skills (Munveren Kapanadze, 2018). This study also aims to study the higher-level thinking skills included in the achievements of the English language curriculum. The main objectives of this study are 9, 10, 11 and 12. The class includes the study of English teaching programs in terms of superior thinking skills. According to the quality research method developed in this study, the data was collected through the document examination method. The universe of the research is all the achievements in the 2018 English lesson curriculum; the examples are the achievements of the 9-12 classes selected through the sample method. The highest level of thinking skills in these achievements have been identified, and the data obtained by this way have been grouped and analyzed by the visual analysis method. Furthermore, the findings identified using the categorical analysis technique that means that the facts obtained by the method of content analysis used in text examinations are classified in the form of specific titles, the findings identified in the form of tables are also evaluated by presenting in tables. The research resulted in achievements of superior thinking skills in the English language curriculum. Finally, the focus was on ways to develop your thinking skills and recommendations for developing these skills were presented.
