Abstract:

The number of women participating in the labour market and employment, especially in the clothing industry, has increased in the world and in Turkey. Women who participate in employment with this form of work, unregistered, are employed with a salary income much below the minimum wage, in addition to the legal regulations. Women who participate in the production process with home-axis work are included in the labour market and employment as an informal women’s labour force. Economic and socio-cultural factors influence women’s work as a home-axis, informal labour force. These factors also lead to the formation of negative working conditions while preparing the ground for women’s home-axis work. The study demonstrates the economic and socio-cultural factors that lead to home-axis work, working conditions and problems with quality research findings. The study demonstrates the need for social policy measures to improve the situation and position of home-working women. Any policy measures that improve women’s home-working labour market and employment status and position will also improve and improve women’s social life status and position.
