Abstract:

In Turkey, a significant part of the vocational education at the higher education level takes place within the vocational high schools. The number of these institutions has exceeded today. Students in these institutions are equal to a significant proportion of students in higher education. Professional education within the vocational college should ensure that students’ professional skills are at the expected level. The aim of this study is to evaluate professional education from the perspective of the faculty, student and program graduates among the professional high school stakeholders. The work is done with the quality method and the work model is used. The participants in the study are a total of 15 people, including five teachers, five students and five graduates. The conversations with these participants, recorded and obtained data by the audio recording device, were subject to content analysis. The findings of the study include the need for the classification of professional higher education institutions in the specified areas to address the needs of the country. The most important role in the continuation of professional education is in the teachers. It has been determined that the personal efforts of the teachers are on the forefront. The result is that the professional practices made are weak in terms of number and quality. Finally, it turned out that some students are uninterested with the classes.
